Rammstein just cemented their status as one of the leading hard rock bands in the world as their latest studio album topped the charts in 14 countries, and become their first record to make it to Top 10 in the US.

Billboard reported that the German industrial legends already sold 270,000 units of their self-titled album, which was released through Universal Music on May 17th.

The band’s latest album mostly topped the charts in European countries, including Germany, France, Russia, and Switzerland, but it also managed to climb to no. 9 on the Billboard 200, making it Rammstein’s first album to ever break into Top 10 in the US.

Frank Briegmann, president and CEO of Universal Music Central Europe and German label Deutsche Grammophon, couldn’t wait to share the news with the public and celebrate Rammstein’s enormous commercial success.

“Rammstein are in a league of their own – both in terms of their music and their shows, as well as their national and international success. They are THE German music export, capturing the imagination of millions of fans across the world,” said Briegmann in a statement.
