Guns N’ Roses have teased fans about releasing a new album for some time now, but the band wasn’t willing to go into details about these efforts.

Well, until now.

The group’s guitarist Slash recently had a chat with 101 WRIF’s DJ Meltdown, and confirmed Guns N’ Roses will enter the studio and work on the new record after wrapping up their current tour in fall. The band’s last show is scheduled for October 13th at the Exit 111 Festival.

“After those Guns dates we’ll be working on the record,” said Slash. “When we finish the tour in the fall then we will commit to working on the next Guns record.”

Although he initially didn’t want to follow this up with more details, Slash ended up sharing that Guns N’ Roses have “already started working” on new music.

“The thing is, we haven’t really done anything yet, and I don’t like to say anything. You know how people used to promote s**t and lie through their teeth?” he added. “So I just wanted to be honest about it, and so there was really no telling what we were gonna do at that point. But at this point, I do know that we are gonna do this run [of shows in the fall], and we’ve already started working on stuff. So, there you go.”

After almost two decades, Slash and bassist Duff McKagan got back together with singer Axl Rose and keyboardist Dizzy Reed, partially reuniting the classical Guns N’ Roses’ lineup. The group embarked on a Not In This Lifetime tour in 2016 and ended up playing 159 shows in 41 countries with more to go.
