It’s been three years since Jarvis Cocker announced he’s writing a book titled This Book Is a Song. It seems like we won’t have to wait for it any longer since he’ll finally publish it later this year.
This highly-anticipated book will be published by Penguin imprint Jonathan Cape on October 1st. Their publishing director Michal Shavit said this book will explore the subject of creativity and how to quietly make amazing things happen in a world of noise.
“Whether it is from the stage, over the airwaves and now in print, he never fails to be interesting and brilliantly real. We’re thrilled to be part of this project and can’t wait for him to show us the path to everyday inspiration,” Shavit stated in 2017 when this project was first announced.
Pulp singer is no stranger to writing, and This Book Is a Song won’t be the first book he ever authored. His lyric collection titled Mother Brother Lover came out in 2011, and he also served as editor for publishing house Faber and Faber.
