Pixies recently released their seventh studio album Beneath the Eyrie, so it’s only appropriate to take it on the road. But the group decided to do things a bit differently this time.

The iconic alternative rockers just announced that they will play a series of small shows across North America in December. The band will use the opportunity to present the fans with new songs in an intimate surrounding before embarking on a major tour in 2020.

Pixies will kick off this intimate tour with a par of shows at Los Angeles’s The Troubadour on December 2nd and December 5th, before heading to San Francisco two days later. The tour will resume with a December 9th show in New York at Webster Hall, followed up by gigs in Boston and Toronto.

According to the press release, the band will make sure that the tickets get straight to their fans and avoid secondary markets. Also, each show will feature different setlist, with every song being “determined just before it’s performed.”

Pixies will stay busy until the end of the year, as they have a huge European and UK tour coming. The band is scheduled to spend the end of September and entire October on the road promoting their new album.
