457 guitarists have gathered in Sydney to attempt a rocking world record.
Footage has just been released of 457 guitarists gathered in Sydney in a world record attempt for most people playing the same song at the same time on electric guitar. You can check out the footage here:
The song chosen was AC/DC classic “Highway to Hell” and the event took place at the Sydney Guitar Festival, led by The Choirboys.
The current record is 368, which was set in India in 2013. It could take up to six weeks for Guinness World Records to verify whether Sydney has broken this record.
Each guitarist used a mini battery-powered amp and the Choirboys did the drums and vocals for the performance. Spokeswoman Tatiana Merchant told Australian Associate Press: “They were tiny amps but they got the sound happening.” She added: “It was such a great atmosphere.”
