Normani’s first solo album was a long time coming, and it seems we won’t have to wait for it much longer. The young singer recently shared exciting news about this highly-anticipated record and said she’s halfway done recording it.

Normani discussed her debut album during a recent appearance on The Zach Sang Show, and also touched upon her first solo single “Motivation”. This song gave her the opportunity to fully express herself, but there’s so much to her first album waiting to be discovered.

“I want to make sure this album is very dynamic. There are so many dimensions to me, not only as an artist but as a person – there are things that I want to talk about and emotions that I want to convey. [‘Motivation’ is] one portion of it for sure but there’s a whole more to be able to discover,” explained the former Fifth Harmony singer.

Normani also revealed that her debut album will feature a total of 14 tracks and that she’s done with half of them. It should hit the shelves sometime next year, but the title and release date are still a mystery.
