Kanye West’s upcoming collab album with Ty Dolla $ign, titled Vultures, will have a star-studded list of guest features, including Future, Freddie Gibbs, James Blake, Playboi Carti, and more. Before wrapping up the project, West also tried to get Nicki Minaj to contribute to the record, but the Grammy Award-winning rapper denied the permission for the use of her verse on a song titled “New Body”.

West recently went on social media platform X (former Twitter) to share a screenshot of the message he sent to Minaj in which he asks for clearance to use the verse while also tagging the “Anaconda” rapper.

Shortly after, Minaj had an Instagram Live session in which she explained the reasons for not giving West permission.

“That train has left the station,” said Minaj before explaining that she had just released a “brand new album”.

“Why would I put out a song that has been out for three years?” she added.

Despite never officially coming out, “New Body” has been known among rap fans for a while now. It was initially supposed to be part of West’s album Yandhi before he scrapped the entire project in 2018. The track also didn’t make the cut West’s 2019 record Jesus Is King but ended up being leaked a year after and received positive reviews from the audience.
