It’s been five years since Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds dropped their latest studio album Ghosteen, and its follow-up is on the horizon. Wild God is coming our way this August, and Cave described it as a “deeply and joyously infectious” record.

Wild God will be released on August 30 through PIAS, and it will feature a total of ten new songs. In addition to the title track “Wild God”, it will also include songs “Final Rescue Attempt”, “Cinnamon Horses”, “Long Dark Night”, and “Song of the Lake”.

The Bad Seeds frontman said this album reflects back the emotional state of the writers and musicians who made it and promised it will lift and move us once we hear it.

“I hope the album has the effect on listeners that it’s had on me. It bursts out of the speaker, and I get swept up with it. It’s a complicated record, but it’s also deeply and joyously infectious,” said Cave in a statement.

Wild God will mark Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds’ first studio album since Ghosteen in 2019. This double album was conceived as the final part of a trilogy, which also included the band’s previous LPs Push the Sky Away (2013) and Skeleton Tree (2016).
