My Morning Jacket is celebrating the 20th anniversary of their debut album The Tennessee Fire with a special treat for their fans. The band announced that they will reissue the record as a deluxe edition which will contain 16 previously unreleased bonus tracks.
The release, which will be out on August 3rd, will also
contain “early band photos, doodles, and the original sequencing and
artwork concepts.”
This won’t be all, however, as My Morning Jacket is planning to perform The Tennessee Fire in full during their live show at Port Chester’s The Capitol Theatre. The concert, which was announced as a one-night-only event, will take place on August 9th with tickets already being on sale.
The Tennessee Fire was released on May 25th, 1999, and set
up the sound that the band was recognizable for in their early days. Although
the record didn’t achieve much commercial success, it was well received by
critics. It contains several fan favorites like “Heartbreakin Man”
and “It’s About Twilight Now.”
My Morning Jacket’s most recent studio release was 2015’s
The Waterfall. The record reached No.11 at the US Billboard 200 and was
considered to contain some of the group’s better works in the last decade.
