Megan Thee Stallion hasn’t released any new music since last year, and she’s in no rush to make a comeback. The hip-hop sensation recently revealed she won’t release any new music until she’s “in a better place” because she’s focused on healing right now.

Stallion recently set down with InStyle to discuss her partnership with the beauty brand Revlon but also took a moment to address her break from music and explain why we haven’t heard from her in a while.

“Fans can expect new music when I’m in a better place. Right now, I’m focused on healing. The music and entertainment industry can be a grind, so it’s important to take time off and avoid burning out. Life is all about balance,” she explained.

This isn’t the first time Stallion addressed her break for music in the wake of the traumatic Tory Lanez shooting and trial. Back in April, she panned an emotional essay for Elle and revealed her mental health reached such a low point that she didn’t feel like making music anymore.

Her mental health struggles also served as a focal point of her second studio album Traumazine, which came out last year and featured collaborations with Dua Lipa, Future, Jhené Aiko, Latto, and Rico Nasty.
