Matt Berry is showing us that he can do it all. For the majority of his professional career in the spotlight, the English actor has been best known for his roles in TV series such as The IT Crowd, Toast of London, and What We Do In The Shadows. But many people don’t know that he’s actually a talented musician as well, and is about to release his seventh studio album.
The aforementioned album will be titled “Blue Elephant”, and luckily, we’ve already gotten a little taste of what it sounds like. Berry recently released “Aboard”, a psychedelic journey of a song that takes us back to British Invasion-style 60s rock. In the song, we can detect countless hints of the 60s, from the trippy guitar sounds to the power-pop melodies.
The full album of “Blue Elephant” will be released on May 14th, but until then fans of his will happily invest their ears into the song he’s already released. If this is their first foray into Berry’s music, they might as well explore his first six albums as well!
Berry’s music evokes a certain nostalgia one doesn’t often hear these days anymore, and thus there’s a wonderful, whimsical, childlike energy present in it. We look forward to hearing how the whole album will sound.
