We’ve seen some of our favorite stars take Las Vegas by storm in recent years, and Mariah Carey will soon do the same! She’s heading to Sin City this spring, after announcing her upcoming Las Vegas Residency The Celebration of Mimi.

The Celebration of Mimi will take place at Park MGM’s Dolby Live venue from April 12-27, as an homage to Carey’s hit album The Emancipation of Mimi, set to celebrate its 20th anniversary next year. It will feature fan favorites from this album, along with other big hits from Carey’s unparalleled illustrious career.

The Emancipation of Mimi came out in 2005, and it’s often hailed as Carey’s comeback album. It produced one of her biggest hits, “We Belong Together”, which spent 14 weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Carey reflected on the album’s legacy in an interview with Billboard in 2020 and said she believes it introduced many new people to her music.

“I look at it as a very important time in my career, a very significant time for me as an artist. It was a sense of feeling triumphant when it was as successful as it was… So I would just love for people to take away the music from that album. I hope that it makes people feel good,” she told Billboard.
