Machine Gun Kelly is no stranger to getting very personal in his songs, but his latest single might be the most gut-wrenching to date. He dropped an emotional music video for “Don’t Let Me Go”, which sees him revisiting some of the lowest points in his life.

“Don’t Let Me Go” sees Kelly dealing with his personal demons, and addressing his vulnerabilities head-on. We see him exploring a wide range of tough subjects, from childhood trauma and mental health issues to losing a child with his fiancée Megan Fox to miscarriage.

Kelly also addresses his public persona, rapping, “Who am I when the music stops?/ And the character that I’ve been playing is really just broken and fu–in’ lost/ I swear I’ve been telling you over and over again in all of these songs/ But they don’t hear nothing I’m writing ’cause they’re too busy trying to write me off.”

At one point, the rapper also drops hints about the massive blackout tattoo he shared on social media earlier this month, revealing, “Just like I wish they would understand me one time/ I had a breakdown and tatted my entire body except one line.”

Machine Gun Kelly’s last studio album Mainstream Sellout came out in 2022, and he’s yet to confirm if he’s plotting the release of its follow-up.
