“Lover” Sells Nearly a Million Copies Before Release

While it’s only scheduled to drop Friday, Swifties are already going crazy for Lover. 

Taylor Swift’s upcoming album is making headlines now that it’s pre-sale numbers has been unveiled. Republic Records executive Monte Lipman has revealed that the pop icon’s forthcoming album, has already scored nearly one million pre-sale orders globally. 

Lipman told Variety that “The anticipation of this album is extraordinary.”

Lover is Swift’s first release since signing with Republic. Her final Big Machine LP Reputation sold a million copies in the US in its opening week and a total 2.2 million to date. 

Swift has released four singles from Lover, including “Me!,” “You Need to Calm Down,” “The Archer” and the title track. 

Lover is set to drop this Friday.
