Kim Gordon has announced her debut solo album, titled No Home Record and has released a brand new track.

The talented musician is formerly a member of the post-rock group, Sonic Youth. Following her time with the group, Gordon formed a new band with Ikue Mori and Bill Nace from DNA. The band was called Body/Head. Now, she has taken the bold step to go solo, for the first time ever.

“Why a solo record? And why now? I don’t know, but it wouldn’t have happened without the persistence of Justin Raisen,” she posed. “Living in LA the last few years it feels like home, but the transience of the place makes it feel sometimes like no home.”

The record will feature Gordon’s brand new single, “Sketch Artist”, which you can listen to here:

The track is dark, gritty and experimental. The only element that ties the track to the musician’s Sonic Youth days is her voice.

Gordon has also released the tracklist for her new album, which you can view here:

‘Sketch Artist’
‘Air BnB’
‘Paprika Pony’
‘Murdered Out’
‘Don’t Play It’
‘Cookie Butter’
‘Hungry Baby’
‘Earthquake’
‘Get Yr Life Back’

No Home Record will be released via Matador on October 11.
