After getting back together earlier this year, indie rocker group Bright Eyes now has a new song to show for. The Omaha trio just presented “Persona Non-Grata,” their first song since 2011.

The track doesn’t step away from the group’s recognizable style, but they did include some unconventional sounds and instruments like bagpipes. Hear it below.

“We hope you like it,” said the band in an accompanying press release. “It was hard to decide which song to share first because they are all quite different, but this one seemed as good of a place as any to start. And it has bagpipes! Which is a first for us. We hope this finds you and your loved ones healthy and safe. Thinking of you fondly.”

Bright Eyes also used the opportunity to give fans an update about their plans for 2020. The band said that they are committed to releasing a new album this year despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. They also have “lots of touring plans,” on which they will share more info once the situation with coronavirus pandemic improves.

Bright Eyes officially disbanded back in 2011, following the release of their eighth studio album The People’s Key. After years of inactivity, the group announced in January that they are reuniting for a new album and worldwide tour.
