Norwegian DJ and producer Kygo has recently presented his take on the 1983’s number-one hit “Say Say Say,” recorded by Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson. The remix, which marks Kygo’s first release in 2023, sees the iconic track wrapped in house production and gives it a dance-powered vibe.

Kygo said that “Say Say Say” was inspired by his love for McCartney and Jackson, two artists whose music he enjoyed listening to when he was a kid.

“It’s been a dream of mine to collaborate alongside these iconic artists, and hope everyone enjoys the song as much as I do,” he added.

“Say Say Say” was released as the lead single from McCartney’s album Pipes of Peace. It topped the charts in more than 10 countries and peaked at No. 1 on US Billboard Hot 100. The song received lukewarm reviews at the time of its release but went on to be recognized as one of the best collaborations of all time. McCartney presented a new version of the song in 2015 that sees his and Jackson’s vocals reversed.

Kygo isn’t a stranger to leaving his stamp on some iconic rock and pop tracks. Some of the tracks he previously remixed include Marvin Gaye’s “Sexual Healing,” Whitney Houston’s “Higher Love,” Dolly Parton’s “Jolene,” and U2’s “You’re the Best Thing About Me.”
