Lil Nas X gave us one of the most colossal hits of 2019 with his debut single “Old Town Road” and it seems that’s just the beginning. The young artist is currently plotting his debut album, but he doesn’t intend to share it with the world before recording “at least 70 songs”.

Lil Nas X recently discussed his future prospects in an interview with Angie Martinez on Power 105 and revealed his first album is slowly taking shape. Unfortunately, it’s highly unlikely we’ll get to hear it soon, because he’s only 2% done with this project – probably because he wants to have “at least 70 songs to choose from”.

This may sound like an unusual approach, but it’s nothing new for the country-trap sensation. Lil Nas X apparently recorded a total of 13 songs for his EP 7, but only eight of them ended up on the final product.

This EP was released on June 21st and made it to no. 2 on Billboard 200 chart. In addition to coming with his breakout hit “Old Town Road”, 7 also features his second single “Panini” and collaborations with Travis Barker and Cardi B.
