Dua Lipa recently did an in-depth interview with British Vogue and had a thing or two to say about her upcoming album. The young singer promised her sophomore record will be more mature and draw inspiration from some of her favorite artists – including Prince, Outkast, and No Doubt.

Lipa previously mentioned that Purple Rain singer significantly influenced her sound, but he wasn’t the only artist she was listening on repeat while writing new music.

“They are definitely interesting, nostalgic feelings. I ended up listening to Prince, Outkast, old Gwen Stefani, and No Doubt. It sounds like such a crazy clash of styles, but that’s just how I like to do things. Juxtaposition has always been a common factor in everything I do. It’s very me,” The “New Rules” singer told British Vogue.

Dua Lipa also promised her new album will be more mature and conceptual, because she experimented with many different sounds, but it’s still a strong pop record. The two-time Grammy-winning singer also added that the process of writing this record was much easier, because she’s better at expressing her feelings, but admitted there’s still a lot of pressure surrounding it.
