Lana Del Rey just revealed that she recorded a cover album with country songs.

While speaking to MOJO, the “Summertime Sadness” singer said she had a country covers album and a collection of “other folk songs” in the works.

Del Rey also said her music has always had a country tone.  “I went back and listened to ‘Ride’ and ‘Video Games’ and thought, you know they’re kind of country. I mean, they’re definitely not pop,” she said to Contactmusic.

“So let’s see how these things come out—I’m not going to have pedal steel guitar on every single thing, but it is easy for me to write,” she continued.

Just last month, the singer released the title track from her highly-anticipated new album “Chemtrails Over the Country Club”.

The single was supposed to be released in December with the album available for pre-order the same day. Del Rey recently announced Chemtrails Over the Country Club will be released on March 19 and is now available for preorder on her website.
