John Wick star Keanu Reeves appears to be serious about reuniting with his alternative band, Dogstar. According to the group’s social media, Dogstar plans to release new music and play a series of live shows in the summer.

Reeves formed Dogstar in 1991 with drummer Robert Mailhouse. The band, which also featured Bret Domrose on guitar and vocals, went on to release two records, Our Little Visionary (1996) and Happy Ending (2000), before disbanding in 2002.

Dogstar initially announced its return last year, creating social media accounts and uploading a series of old footage as well as newer clips and photos from the studio. This was followed by last week’s post in which the band shared an image from a recent photoshoot and promised some “exciting news.”

The photo understandably got the fans excited, prompting Dogstar to share more details about their plans for the future.

“We are overjoyed to see such a response! Honestly, I didn’t expect this,” the band said. “It makes us want to play out even more. We will be rolling out some new music this summer, followed by some gigs. As soon as it’s all figured out, we will let everyone know immediately.”

While the band said they couldn’t share more details about their return at the moment, they added that there would be a music video coming to support their first new song in more than two decades.

Dogstar has already played several live shows since reuniting, but all of them were intimate shows or appearances at private events.
