The Kaiser Chiefs have warned fans that they should not accept a friend request on Facebook from the group’s lead singer Ricky Wilson.

It appears that there is currently a scam going targeting Wilson, with the people behind it sending out random Facebook friend requests on behalf of the singer.

The group posted on their official Twitter account:

Since forming in 2000, the band has released six studio albums, with the latest, Stay Together, coming out in 2016.

Wilson did confirm earlier this year that the band would be making new music. He said: “The cards are looking up. We’re writing, we’re always writing. We’re touring, we’re always touring. We’re signing a new deal. We’re making another record. When it comes out, we’ll do the rounds saying that it’s the best one ever – like we always do.”
