“Stay Another Day” is one of the most beloved British holiday classics, and Jorja Smith found a way to put a fun new twist on it. The R&B star released a brand-new version of East 17’s beloved Christmas song just in time for the holidays!

“Stay Another Day” was released by the British boy band East 17 in 1994, and it went on to become a Christmas staple in their home country in the years to come. It was a part of their second album Steam from 1994 and it soared to the top of the UK charts following its release, in addition to making it to the top ten all around the world.

The animated music video for “Stay Another Day” hails from the London-based production company BlinkInk. It looks straight out of a fairy tale and centers on a lonely fox roaming the streets of a big city before being drawn to a brighter side of life by Smith’s enchanting voice.

BlinkInk’s director Jack Brown praised Smith for totally transforming this Christmas classic and giving the lyrics a whole new sense of meaning.

“For the music video I wanted it to have a lovely handmade, classical look, while also being unexpected and giving the viewer the feeling of being a ghost of the Christmas past, floating through the video,” said Brown in a statement.
