Jay-Z has helped produce the Super Bowl halftime show for the past five years, but would he ever consider hitting that iconic stage? The record-breaking rapper recently discussed the possibility of headlining the Super Bowl, and said he’s open to “maybe” doing it in the future.

Jay-Z recently attended the premiere of The Book Of Clarence, which he helped produce, and discussed the possibility of headlining the Super Bowl with Entertainment Tonight.

“To get on stage for the Super Bowl halftime show? I don’t know. I thought it would be selfish to pick myself too early, but maybe one year,” explained Jay-Z.

The Grammy-winning rapper may not take the Super Bowl stage anytime soon, but he can’t wait to see Usher headline the next halftime show. He described him as “one of the greatest performers that we’ve seen in our time” and added he’s going to take his rightful place among the Super Bowl halftime show legends.

Jay-Z has been serving as the NFL’s live music entertainment strategist through his company Roc Nation since 2019, and he produced several iconic halftime show performances over the years. Rihanna was the most recent artist to take the Super Bowl stage last year, and she set a new record for the most-watched halftime show of all time.
