J. Cole has declared his feature on the Gang Starr track “Family and Loyalty” his last guest appearance.

The American rapper recently featured on the group’s first song in 16 years. The group had reunited to share a track featuring the posthumous vocals from MC Guru. According to Gang Starr’s DJ Premier, Cole could not resist contributing vocals to the track when he heard it.

“When it comes to this generation of MCs, ones that are lyrically on the level that Guru was on and someone that he would want to work with, Cole is that guy,” he said of the feature. “When Cole heard the record he got the chills and knew it was a classic.”

When the track was released, J. Cole shared it on Twitter, declaring it to be an “honor” to have featured. In the tweet, he also announced that the feature would be his last.

J. Cole fans are certainly disappointed as a Drake collaboration was promised at the rapper’s show in April. Unfortunately, J. Cole has left no room for ambiguity in his tweet, stating “this is the last feature you’ll hear from me.”
