Green Day really kept us waiting for their new song “Father of All…” – but this track was definitely worth it. Punk rock legends just shared a video for their latest single, and we dare you not to dance while watching it.

According to the official description of this video, the band wanted to make something about dancing, anxiety, tribalism, joy and straight-up violence. That’s why “Father of All…” features a series of compelling scenes of people dancing, protesting and rebelling during different eras around the world.

The band’s lead vocalist Billie Joe Armstrong described this ‘60s-style dance-party jam as “a unicorn falling out of the sky” while discussing their new sound with Rolling Stone. Green Day eventually ended up naming their upcoming album after this track, but we’ll have to wait until February 7th, 2020 to hear what else they came up with.

According to the same interview, the band has been experimenting with “danceable grooves, wiry riffs, and sounds that can range from new wave to vintage R&B” on their upcoming record. The tracklist will also include songs titled “Bulletproof Backpack”, “Sugar Youth” and “Meet Me on the Roof”.
