Huey Lewis and the News have been steadily doing tours and festivals in the past several years, but haven’t been active in the studio all that much. Or at least that’s what we thought.
The San Francisco rockers just dropped a brand new single, “Her Love Is Killin’ Me,” while also announcing that their 10th studio album is coming in 2020. This is the band’s first original material in more than a decade.

Huey Lewis and the News first announced a new record back in January, planning to get it released in spring. However, the recording process was slowed down by frontman Huey Lewis’ hearing problems caused by Ménière’s disease. Still, Lewis managed to put in the work and the band eventually put together an album in their Troutfarm studio in California.
The band’s last album was 2010’s Soulsville, but this record didn’t contain new material as it was conceived as a tribute to Stax Records label. Their most recent album with original songs was Plan B, which was released back in 2001.
