In case you haven’t been keeping tabs on Nancy Wilson, the acclaimed guitarist and co-founder of the 70s classic rock band Heart, here’s a little update. After all these years, she’s finally making her solo album debut on May 7th.

To promote the upcoming album, Wilson released a song titled “You and Me” which is dedicated to her late mother.

The song starts off with silky acoustic guitar-playing and soon evolves into a poignant masterpiece about nostalgic times Wilson shared with her mother.

Wilson was always known for her guitar abilities in Heart, providing tasty licks for classics such as “Crazy on You” and “Barracuda”. Her sister, Ann Wilson, was the lead singer.

However, this newly released single proves that Wilson has some real vocal talent as well. As she wistfully croons the lyrics, “Mama welcome back I feel you here”, it’s hard not to get a tad emotional.

Along with engineer Matthew Sabi, Wilson served as the producer for the single, as well as the entire album. If this song is any indication of what the album is going to sound like, classic rock fans—and especially Heart fans—have a lot to be excited about in the near future.
