It’s been a while since Greta Van Fleet surprised us with some new music, but they’re finally ready for a comeback. Their third album Starcatcher is on the way, and they teased its release by dropping a new single “Meeting the Master”.

Greta Van Fleet announced the release of their third studio album on social media and revealed it will hit the shelves on July 21. The band’s drummer Danny Wagner said they wanted to build a universe with this record, introducing us to new characters, ideas, and motifs.

The band gave us a taste of things to come with the lead single “Meeting the Master”, and here’s what they said about their new song in a joint statement:

“’Meeting the Master’ peers into an esoteric world heeded by the word of a wise teacher. Sung in the voice of a devout believer, and eventual group exclamation, the song details the love these fervent followers have for their teacher and their firm belief in his vision.”

Starcatcher will mark Greta Van Fleet’s first studio album since The Battle at Garden’s Gate, which debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 chart. It will most likely feature some of the new songs they played during recent live shows, including “The Falling Sky”, “Indigo Streak”, “Sacred the Thread”, and “Farewell for Now”.
