It’s been five years since Four Year Strong dropped their last studio album, but their fans won’t have to wait much longer for their next album. Their new LP is titled Brain Pain and there’s a reason why it took them this long to get it done.

Members of the Massachusetts-based pop-punk band started plotting this album two years ago. It took some time to finish because they weren’t forced to get it done quickly so they could go touring like they often were in the past.

“We didn’t want to set a strict deadline for this album because we wanted to be sure we took the time to write the best songs possible… This time we really had the opportunity to take our time and work through these ideas,” said members of the group in a joint statement.

Brain Pain is due to be released on February 28th, and they’ve described it as the record they always wanted to make. In addition to announcing its title and release date, Four Year Strong also dropped two new songs from this record – “Brain Pain” and “Talking Myself in Circles”.
