The Met Gala is one of many high-profile events that ended up being canceled or postponed this year. It eventually moved to a virtual space and featured an amazing performance from  Florence + the Machine.

The “A Moment with the Met” event was hosted by Vogue editor and Met Gala co-chair Anna Wintour on May 4th. She tried to keep the spirit of fashion’s biggest night alive alongside several celebrity guests, including Florence Welch, who joined her for “a special moment of joy and of hope”.

“She performed at the Met nearly a decade ago, and she very graciously told me that it was one of the most extraordinary moments of her life. I am so touched and so grateful that she has agreed to sing for us tonight,” said Wintour while introducing the singer.

Welch performed an acoustic version of her hit The Source cover “You’ve Got the Love”, which originally came out in 2009, and became her first song to enter the top 5 in the UK. Her involvement in this event comes shortly after the release of the charity single “Light of Love”.
