Elvis Biopic Sets 2021 Release Date

We’re one step closer to hearing The King’s biggest hits on the silver screen.

Baz Luhrmann’s untitled Elvis Presley biopic finally has an official release date. Warner Bros announced Friday that the still-untitled feature will hit theaters in the fall of 2021. This news comes just three weeks after the studio announced that Austin Butler has been set to portray Presley.

The biopic will “delve into their complex dynamic spanning over 20 years, from Presley’s rise to fame to his unprecedented stardom, against the backdrop of the evolving cultural landscape and the loss of innocence in America,” per the studio’s official description.

The studio also pushed back its Dune adaptation, which will now premiere December 18, 2020. The big-screen adaptation of Frank Herbert’s 1965 novel stars Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Zendaya, David Dastmalchian, Stephen Henderson, Charlotte Rampling, Jason Momoa, and Javier Bardem.

The Presley biopic premieres October 21, 2021.
