Move over U2, Ed Sheeran is in the house.

The singer-songwriter’s Divide tour is now the longest, most attended, and most profitable tour of all time.

Divide is due to end later this month with the last show being played in Ipswich, which means Sheeran will be on the road for 893 days compared to 760 days U2 have been on the road for their 360 tour.

During this time, Sheeran has played 255 shows while U2 have played 100 times in their tour. Sheeran has already broken the U2 record of the biggest attendance of 7.3 million viewers in May and by the end of the tour 8.5 million people from 43different countries will have seen his show. It is interesting to note that per show, U2 brought more than double the number of viewers on average than Sheeran.

Sheeran has thanked the fans in his Instagram account. “Today the Divide tour broke the all-time tour record set by U2. It’s now the most attended and highest-grossing tour of all time. Thanks so much for each and every one of you who have come to a show. 12 shows left, will never forget it,” he wrote.
