Ed Sheeran gave us four chart-topping albums and countless hit singles this decade and quickly transformed in one of the biggest British pop stars in the world. Official Charts Company took notice of his success and crowned him as the top recording artist of the decade in the UK.

Sheeran earned this title after scoring 12 number ones across the official singles and albums chart between 2010 and 2019. All of his studio albums made it to no. 1 in the UK, and so did his smash hits “Thinking Out Loud”, “Shape of You”, “Perfect” and “I Don’t Care”.

The Grammy-winning singer also owes this title to the fact that he managed to spend 79 weeks at the top of the charts in the UK. “Shape of You” has a big part in this triumph as it spent 14 non-consecutive weeks at no. 1 on the UK Singles Chart.

Ed Sheeran celebrated this enormous honor by writing, “Thank you to everyone who’s supported me over the past 10 years, especially my amazing fans. Here’s to the next 10!” The British singer also recently made it to the second place of Spotify’s list of the most-streamed artists of the decade, right behind Drake.
