After wrapping up the fourth highest grossing tour of all time in 2018, Ed Sheeran nabbed a new record this week—a Diamond certification for “Shape of You”.

The news were confirmed by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), the organization responsible for issuing out such certification. For a label to earn a Diamond certification, it must accumulate 10 million unit sales and streams.

With the new record, Sheeran is the fourth artist to garner multiple songs with Diamond certification. He attained a similar record with Thinking Out Loud, a song which got the certification back in 2017. Achieving Diamond certification isn’t a minor accomplishment. The record is the highest form of certification, ranked above platinum, gold and multiplatinum.

Of course, Sheeran didn’t let the moment pass without sharing it with his fans.

“My song Shape of You is now diamond in the US! Thanks to everyone who’s downloaded or streamed it x,” he said on Instagram.

Sheeran has been one of the most dominant artists of this decade. His Shape of You song was the top single of 2017. In the same year, the English song writer became the first artist to debut two songs in the top 10 of the Hot 100 with Castle of the Hill at No.6 and Shape of You at the top position.
