Dua Lipa’s fans have been waiting for her next album for almost three years, and the wait is coming to an end earlier than expected. Her new album Future Nostalgia will hit the shelves on Friday, one week earlier than previously announced.

The “New Rules” singer was supposed to drop her sophomore album on April 3rd, but she was forced to move up its release after it leaked online this weekend. Instead of waiting any longer, she decided to give fans what they’ve been asking for and release her album on March 27th.

Lipa announced the news in a tearful Instagram live and admitted she was conflicted about this decision with everything going on in the world right now. She eventually came to the conclusion that we could all use a little bit of joy and expressed her hope that this album will make us smile and dance.

Future Nostalgia already gave us several hit singles, including “Don’t Start Now”, which steadily climbed the charts in several countries and currently sits at no. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
