Doja Cat’s music always walked a fine line between rap and pop, but she’s ready to go “full rap” the next time around. The singer dropped hints about her next album on Twitter and said she’s ready to leave her pop era behind because this genre doesn’t excite her anymore.

Doja Cat has been tweeting about her fourth studio album Hellmouth for quite some time, and she even ended up changing her Twitter handle. Some of her most recent tweets saw her discussing the album’s genre, hinting at a shift from pop to rap.

Doja Cat said her new album will be “full rap” because pop isn’t exciting to her anymore. She also addressed the criticism that her rap verses received in the past, saying she’s tired of hearing people say she can’t rap, and she’s ready to prove them wrong.

To be fair, Doja has been tweeting A LOT in recent days, so we’re taking everything she says with a grain of salt. She’s been trolling her fans about possible retirement and even wrote her new album will explore rock/spoken word and experimental country/bohemian fusion, so we won’t know for sure what she’s up to until she finally drops some new music.

Doja Cat also teased the titles of several songs on this album and hinted it will feature 10 tracks with five extras.
