It’s been two years since “Despacito” came out and took the world by storm, but it’s popularity keeps on growing. This catchy tune by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee made YouTube history after becoming the first music video on this platform to ever reach six billion views.

The music video for “Despacito” was the most watched clip on YouTube even before it set this impressive record. Many people see it as the most successful Spanish-language track in pop music history, especially since it had great impact on Latin music as a whole.

Luis Fonsi was doing pretty well in his home country long before this single came out, but he became a worldwide sensation thanks to this song. “Despacito” will always hold a special place in his heart, and he’s aware a lot has changed since it hit the shelves.

“I think one song doesn’t define a career. But definitely there’s a before and an after and I realize that, and I will always be happy to sing it, and it will always bring me back to a special time,” said Fonsi in a recent interview with Billboard.
