David Crosby confirmed earlier this week that he sold his entire music catalog to Iconic Artists Group. The sum that Crosby received remained undisclosed.

The deal will see the company taking ownership of Crosby’s recorded music and publishing rights to catalog that includes his solo works and songs with the Byrds and supergroups like Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.

Crosby said that he was prompted to part ways with his music by the coronavirus pandemic and being unable to tour.

“Given our current inability to work live, this deal is a blessing for me and my family, and I do believe these are the best people to do it with,” said Crosby.

The 79-year-old musician hinted at the move back in December when he said that streaming caused his earnings to drop significantly.

David Crosby is a two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame-inductee, receiving the honor as a member of the Byrds and Crosby, Stills & Nash. He released seven solo albums, with the most recent being the 2018’s Here If You Listen.

Crosby isn’t the only musician that decided to sell his music in recent months. Bob Dylan sold his entire catalog to Universal Music for a reported $300 million in late 2020, while Hipgnosis Songs Fund bought 50 percent of publishing rights and income interest on Neil Young’s works.
