Many of our favorite artists are plotting new albums and concert tours for 2022, but BTS is taking a different route. After giving us one hit after another in the past two years, the members of the K-pop band are getting ready for an “extended period of rest.”

The band’s label Big Hit Music broke the news in an official statement, saying that members of BTS will use this time to spend the holiday season with their families and get re-inspired and recharge with creative energy before embarking on their future endeavors.

“BTS will be focusing on preparing for the concert and release of the new album that will mark the beginning of a ‘new chapter’. They are preparing for a concert this coming March to connect and communicate with the fans in-person in Seoul,” reads the official statement released by the band’s label.

Before taking a break, BTS will finish performing scheduled events on BTS Permission to Dance On Stage – LA and take part in the 2021 Jingle Ball Tour. This announcement comes shortly after a benchmark year for the K-pop band, as they gave us two no. 1 singles with “Butter” and “Permission to Dance”, won three American Music Awards, and received their second Grammy nomination.
