Members of BTS have been pretty busy working on their solo music in recent months and V is the next one in line. He’s following in the footsteps of J-Hope, Suga, and Jimin and dropping his debut solo album Layover this September.

V said he’s both happy and nervous about releasing his first album as a solo artist, which will allow him to show a whole new side of himself.

“This is an album that has my personal preferences. There will be a lot of things to show. I prepared it while thinking that ARMY would be happy, so I hope you all look forward to it. You will be able to see solo artist V, which will show a new side and will be different from BTS’s V,” he said in a statement.

Big Hit Music announced that V joined forces with Min Hee-jin, the CEO of NewJean’s label ADOR, to bring his first solo album to life. Layover will hit the shelves on September 8, and it will include songs “Rainy Days”, “Blue”, “Love Me Again”, “Slow Dancing”, and “For Us”.

V isn’t the only member of BTS with a solo album on the way this year. His bandmate Jungkook is also planning to drop a mini-album by November following the chart-topping success of his debut solo single “Seven” ft. Latto.
