After dropping hints about her third studio album every now and then, Dua Lipa finally made things official. In a recent interview with T Magazine, the Grammy-winning singer confirmed her next album will hit the shelves in 2024 and pivot away from her signature disco sound.

Lipa set down with T Magazine for an in-depth interview, and one of the topics that came up is her next studio album. She said her album will be out in 2024, adding that she doesn’t intend to fall victim to the trend of musicians announcing and delaying records for years.

Lipa’s next studio album will mark a major pivot from her signature disco sound, and she intends to experiment with “1970s-era psychedelia”. The singer also added that her next album will still fall under the pop umbrella despite her decision to explore a new sound because she doesn’t want to alienate her fans too much.

T Magazine also hinted she’ll collaborate with Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, writing that she “all but confirms by denying” the rumor. When it comes to the album’s lyrics and themes, Lipa described it as “more personal” than her previous records, while also adding it won’t be too confessional because she doesn’t want people “to dig into the music in this weird, analytical way.”
