After being on hiatus for five years, Swedish House Mafia made a triumphant return in March 2018 at Miami’s Ultra Music Festival. It was supposed to be a one-off gig, but it looks like we are in for more Swedish House Mafia gigs in the future.

Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso recently had a show in New York at The Brooklyn Mirage and decided to make the atmosphere even more electrifying by teasing that they could reunite with Steve Angello at some point in 2019.

“Should we cancel the Swedish House Mafia gig we’re planning next year? Because I’m not sure they’re ready for Swedish House Mafia in 2019 in New York,” said Axwell at one point, causing big roars from the crowd.

Swedish House Mafia formed in 2008, consisting of already proved DJs – Axwell, Steve Angello, and Sebastian Ingrosso – and quickly became one of the most exciting EDM groups in the business. After five years together, in which they headlined some of the biggest music festivals in the world, the group decided to go on an indefinite hiatus in 2013. Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso continued performing shows as a duo, while Steve Angello worked alone.

Then in March 2018, they made a surprise reunion at the Ultra Miami, with the announcement being made 24 hours before the gig.
