Avril Lavigne is dropping the deluxe edition of her latest album Love Sux later this month and she found a perfect way to promote it. She joined forces with Yungblud for the new single “I’m a Mess” and dropped an amazing music video that proves they’re a match made in heaven.

The self-reflective video was directed by P Tracy and filmed in both London and Los Angeles. The two singers are shown wandering the streets on their own before coming together to perform the explosive final chorus in a goth-looking room with red walls and curtains.

According to Lavigne, this song is inspired by the feeling of being away from people they love—something both she and Yungblud can strongly relate to.

“We both tour and travel so much with our music careers. We def know what it’s like to miss our friends/fam bf/gf or whatever. The song is about being apart and missing someone,” she wrote on Twitter.

She also reflected on her time working with Yungblud and described him as “very funny and very talented”, adding they had “so much stupid fun” working on this track.

The deluxe edition of Love Sux will hit the shelves on November 25, and “I’m a Mess” succeeds two singles from the original album—”Bite Me”, and “Love It When You Hate Me”.
