Taylor Swift doesn’t shy away from sharing her personal life with her fans. She is always open and honest in her interviews, communicates with her fans through social media, and also writes autobiographical songs.

Despite this kind of attitude and widespread media coverage, there are certain things that perhaps even Swift’s biggest fans might not know about her. Well, let’s change that.

Today we brought you 8 things you probably didn’t know about Taylor Swift, that will certainly prove to be intriguing and maybe change the way you think about this pop star. So let’s check them out.

Songwriting

Unlike most of the other pop-stars nowadays, Taylor Swift doesn’t rely on other authors to pen her songs. Swift is credited as a writer on every song she ever released and is a sole author on more than half of them.

Career in Finance

While it must seem shocking now, Swift didn’t always want to pursue a music career. Instead, she wanted to be a financial advisor.

Novel

Taylor Swift’s writing talent isn’t just limited to songwriting. One summer, when she was a teenager, she wrote an entire novel. It revolved around a shark that was washed up on the shore near her family’s vacation house.

“The Best Day”

If you had the opportunity to catch Swift live in concert in recent time, you might have been surprised to find out that “The Best Day” wasn’t on the setlist. This is because she stopped performing the song on tours as it would make her mom cry in backstage each time.

College Life

Achieving fame at such a young age, Swift didn’t have the opportunity to live the life of a normal teenager. This is why she decided to attend college classes with her friend Abigail and visit her brother’s dorm room in order to get a taste of college life.

Grammys

Swift became the youngest artist to receive the Grammy for Album of the Year when she won the award in 2010 for Fearless. She is also only the second female solo artist to receive two Grammy for Album of the Year, with the other one being Adele.

Philanthropy

The “Shake it Off” singer is also known for her philanthropic efforts. Although she doesn’t like to brag in public about it, Swift gladly helps those in need. Besides regularly giving to charities, she also helped her fans on several occasions, including giving $50,000 to a fan suffering from leukemia and helping a homeless fan with $4,000.

Musical Instruments

Swift doesn’t just have a golden voice and talent to write awesome songs; she also knows how to play four musical instruments: guitar, piano, banjo, and ukulele. Fun fact is that she also first learned to play 12-string guitar before even trying the 6-string one.
