Morgan Wallen notched his fifth week atop the Billboard 200 chart with his latest album One Thing at a Time, and it seems he’s not going anywhere. Several A-list artists failed to hit no. 1 with their new albums due to Wallen’s ongoing chart domination, starting with these five.

Twice – Ready to Be

K-pop fans always had a special talent for helping their favorite artists top the charts. They tried to do it again with Twice’s new EP Ready to Be, which eventually debuted at no. 2 behind One Thing at a Time.

Miley Cyrus – Endless Summer Vacation

Despite giving us one of the defining songs of 2023 with “Flowers”, Cyrus’ latest album Endless Summer Vacation debuted at no. 3, but it managed to hit the top spot in the UK and Australia.

Jimin – Face

BTS’s Jimin scored the highest-charting album by a K-pop solo artist in Billboard chart history with his debut solo album Face, but he still had to settle for the no. 2 spot instead of topping the chart.

Lana Del Rey – Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd

Lana Del Rey scored her biggest opening week since 2015 with her new album Ocean Blvd, which eventually debuted at no. 3 due to tough competition on the Billboard 200 chart.

Melanie Martinez – Portals

Melanie Martinez created a lot of hype for her new concept album Portals. Despite scoring the biggest debut for a female soloist in 2023 so far, Portals still debuted at no. 2 behind Wallen’s latest LP.
