It took years for Raye to finally get her debut album My 21st Century Blues off the ground, and she’s finally reaping the fruits of her labor! The 2024 Brit Awards nominations are finally in, and Raye made history as the first artist to score seven nods in a single year.

My 21st Century Blues secured Raye her first nominations for the album of the year – and she’s in pretty good company. The list of contenders in this category also includes Blur’s The Ballad of Darren, J Hus’ Beautiful and Brutal Yard, Little Simz’s No Thank You, and Young Fathers’ Heavy Heavy.

Raye scored two nods for song of the year with “Escapism.” ft. 070 Shake and “Prada” ft. Cassö and D-Block Europe. She’s one of the contenders for artist of the year, as well, but she’ll have to face tough competition in Dua Lipa, Dave, Arlo Parks, Jessie Ware, and Central Cee.

Raye is also competing for best pop act, best R&B act, and best new artist, where the list of nominees includes fellow rising stars Mahalia, Olivia Dean, PinkPantheress, and Yussef Dayes.

The 2024 Brit Awards winners will be announced from The O2 Arena in London on March 2.
