It’s been half a century since Billy Gibbons, Frank Beard and Dusty Hill decided to join their forces and form the legendary band ZZ Top. This year marks the 50th anniversary of their group, and they’ll celebrate the big date with a long tour all across the US.

The tour will kick off on August 16 at the Sunlight Supply Amphitheatre in Ridgefield, Washington. It will take the band across 34 cities, until it wraps up in West Palm Beach, Florida on October 20.

Cheap Trick will serve as the tour’s primary opening act, with rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd making a special appearance during several shows. The band’s frontman, Billy Gibbons, couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity to celebrate this special anniversary with their fans.

“It’s been five decades, and I think we’re starting to get pretty good at all this! We’re truly excited to be appearing across the continent this summer and fall, playing our bluesy kind of rock like we started in ’69,” he said in the official announcement of band’s upcoming tour.
