After performing an emotional cover of Coldplay’s “Fix You” during the iHeartRadio Living Room Series back in May, Sam Smith has finally released their first version of the song.

“Thank you @Coldplay for writing such a beautiful song,” Smith wrote along with a clip of him singing the song on Instagram.

“I love this song, and as soon as I heard it I was just reminded again of how much of a classic it is,” Smith said of the cover before they performed it.

During the coronavirus, Smith said they’ve “fallen in love with singing again,” and that they loving singing songs that aren’t their own.

Back in May, Smith released a collab with Demi Lovato, “I’m Ready,” and announced in March that their third album, To Die For, would be pushed back from its original May 1 release date. This album’s release date hasn’t been rescheduled, but Smith said it should debut later this year.
