Wu-Tang Clan’s documentary series Of Mics And Men premiered on May 10th on Showtime, giving their fans a unique insight into the rap group’s rise to success. Now, the Staten Island rappers have another surprise in store for us, as they will soon release an EP inspired by this docu-series.

Wu-Tang Clan announced that the extended play will drop on May 17th via a statement on Twitter.

“You’ve seen Episode 1/ Wu documentary by now (and if you haven’t, what were you doing last weekend), now listen to the music inspired by the series,” – the group wrote. “On Friday, we’re coming with a new Wu-Tang EP from @36ChambersALC and Mass Appeal, so let your boss know you’ll be in late to work.”

Besides the Showtime’s documentary series, Wu-Tang Clan are gearing up for another TV project. They teamed up with streamer Hulu for Wu-Tang: An American Saga, television series that will focus on the group’s formative years. The first season will have 10 episodes, but the premiere date remains to be revealed.

In between all the television work, Wu-Tang Clan is touring North America in order to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their debut album Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). The tour is scheduled to wrap up on September 2nd in Minneapolis.
